What the index is, and is not
Four categories, no overlap
Every hotel sits in exactly one of four groups — art, capsule, casino, ice — chosen because the format genuinely changes what a stay is like, not because it sounded like a useful filter.
Prose, not specification sheets
Each entry is written as continuous text about the building, the setting and the way the property works. There are no key/value tables here, and no attempt to reduce a hotel to a row of numbers.
No scores, no bookings
We publish no star ratings, no review aggregates and no reservation tools. The index is editorial; anything you plan to act on should be confirmed with the property itself.
