Why this shortlist exists, how it is put together and where its boundaries lie.
How the idea began
Most coverage of casino resorts lingers on chips, tables and jackpots, then gives the bedroom one hurried sentence. We wanted the opposite. PigskinPros Hotels describes ten resorts purely as places to spend the night, looking at the neighbourhood, the architecture, the rooms and the things to do nearby, while the gaming floor stays outside the judgement entirely.
Lines we do not cross
- Games of any sort. Nothing on this site lets you bet, spin or play, for money or otherwise.
- A booking desk. We hold no inventory and no reservation ever pays us a cent.
- Commercial ties. None of the featured hotels, their owners or their operators has any arrangement with us.
Where our notes come from
Every entry draws on what the properties themselves publish, on reporting about the buildings and their surroundings, and on the basic geography of each destination. We keep the write-ups tight and finish each one by naming the traveller it suits best. The reasoning in full is set out on the How we rank page.
When something is out of date
Restaurants get renamed, wings close for refits and towers change brands. If a detail here no longer matches what you found, let us know via the contact page; each report gets verified, and the entry is amended whenever it proves right.
